Our company hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, but for excellent candidates we are open to alternative work schedules in some roles (e.g. 30 hours a week).

Videographer

Trekk is seeking a talented videographer with experience in both capturing and editing video to join our team in Rockford, IL.

You will be responsible for capturing video using professional-grade cameras, drones, and other equipment and editing existing raw video to produce new video content. You will play a crucial role in creating videos to communicate our clients’ stories, products, and services.

Reports to: Trekk’s Creative Director

Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead at any on-site client shoots, capturing ground footage, aerial footage, and/or stills as needed and per the project brief.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to plan and storyboard videos as needed.
    • Travel to and from shoot locations.
    • Set up and take down cameras, microphones, lighting, props, and additional equipment, and provide direction during the shoot.
    • Capture high-quality photography and video footage using professional-grade cameras, drones, and audio equipment during production.
  • Produce additional video content, e.g. video for social media, from scripts provided by Trekk’s content team, adding graphics, captions, and special effects to videos as needed.
  • Procure audio from voiceover artists as needed.
  • Create and maintain an internal online video library for each of our clients.
  • Proactively support the storytelling needs of each client by consistently identifying and brainstorming high-quality and engaging video content.
  • Keep up to speed on current video-creation trends and practices and provide feedback and suggestions to improve processes, operations, and Trekk’s video offering as a whole.
  • Ensure all recording and studio equipment is in good working order and keep track of new purchases and other expenses.
  • Support the execution of other creative projects, as needed, including internal and external communications. Examples include video or audio podcasts, augmented reality experiences, and 360° immersive experiences.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years experience in the video space — strong conceptual and editing skills and a deep understanding of pre- and post-production video techniques.
  • Strong portfolio of high-quality reels for different types of industries.
  • Creative thinking with an excellent eye for detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with co-workers and clients.
  • Experience in video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro and other editing software.
  • The ability to create motion graphics and visual effects using Adobe After Effects.
  • Experience in capturing and processing footage in raw/log formats.
  • Ability to capture and edit audio.
  • Excellent storytelling skills.
  • The ability to pick out attention-grabbing shots.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Driver’s license and a personal vehicle.
  • Strong project management skills and file organization.
  • Talent for sound design.
  • Understanding of video encoding formats.
  • Experience with content creation and social media is a plus.
  • Experience with time-lapse photography, the ability to fly a drone, and experience in 360° video/still capture is a plus.
